  • Non-MOT students will receive the same two lectures on Wednesday and Friday each 8.30-10.30 in Room A;
  • There will be no lecture on Tuesday in Room A.

Welcome at the area of the “Zaan”! The Zaan region is more than just windmills, wooden houses and scenic landscape. Ini kata2 yg pertama gw baca di brosur yg dibagikan orang2 IO ke kami.

Ngomong2 soal Belanda, pasti salah satu yg nyangkut di kepala itu Windmill, alias kincir angin. Windmill = molen in Dutch, reminds you of something? yup asal kata “molen” di pisang molen jangan dari sini (jangan ditelen mentah2 cek dulu ya ;p).

The good news is Sabtu ini International Office TUD ngadain acara jalan2, yang gratis =) salah satu faktor knp gw ikut, ke Zaanse Zans, deket Amsterdam buat ngeliat windmill2 “bersejarah”. Dua bus gede. Dari Delft cuma sejam-an buat sampe kesitu. Sebagai mahasiswa yg baik dan ingin mengenal lebih baik tentang windmill, gw nge-daftar. Somehow ini ngingetin gw sama Hokkaido Historic Village di Sapporo, banyak banget kesamaannya ;p.

Zaanse Sans mirip2 sama TMII versi kecil (banget) buat windmill. Sebenarnya nggak cuman windmills aja yg ada disini, ada jg Cheese Farm, Workshop sepatu kayu (ada model sepatu kayu buat kaki raksasa), toko souvenir; bbrp museum spt bakery museum, Museum of Dutch Clock), Zaans Museum; Toko Albert Heijn yg pertama di Belanda -> (Albert Heijn itu mirip2 Hero/Gelael di Belanda). Berhubung kita dikasih “Zaanse Schans Pass”, kita dapet kopi gratis di tempat Albert Heijn ini. Rasanya?? masih enakan Nescafe di lidah gw…..

Menariknya disini, kita bisa lihat sapi (yg berwarna hitam belang putih, atau vice versa) secara live di ladang lagi merumput dengan background kincir angin. Bagus buat difoto (fotonya nyusul ya). Plus foto2 postcard yg berkaitan dengan windmill diambil disini.

Ada enam kincir angin yg besar disini. De Huisman (Mustard Mill), De gekroonde Poelenburg (Saw Mill), De Kat (Paint Mill), De Zoeker (Oil Mill), Het Jonge Schaap (Saw Mill) dan De Bonte Hoen (Oil Mill). Dari Zaanse Pass ini kita bisa milih masuk one of three dari (oil mill, paint mill dan saw mill). Berhubung dari tiga tempat itu yg pernah related dengan hidup gw adalah oil, I chose oil mill =) ternyata di dalam oil mill gw nggak liat minyak sama sekali. tangga buat naik ke bagian atas dari windmill curam banget, lumayan buat bikin orang2 hati2. Gw jadi inget “pegang handrail saat naik tangga”, well, safety first ;p

Memori gw setelah dari tempat ini -> enough with windmill, sapi Belanda itu gede2 banget (mungkin pola makan ikutan majikannya yg gede2 jg), wooden shoes model yg guede banget, dan ada aroma yg khas dan kita nggak tahu itu apa. Oh satu lagi, toilet 0.5 EURO (dan tak sampe 50 meter dari situ ada toilet gratis di Zaanse Museum, d*mn), ada patung pinokio di salah satu toko souvenir, dan jantung gw hampir copot gara2 menjatuhkan magnetic keramik (untungnya nggak pecah, jd gw nggak perlu ganti).

Next trip? hmm still thinking about it
